Bridges completed at Eriksberg
Spectacular bridges on the shores of Eriksberg are now ready – a milestone for Blekinge’s coastal hiking!
Since the ARK56 concept was launched by Blekinge Arkipelag, the vision has been to create a continuous coastal hiking trail along the entire Blekinge coast. Now an important step has been taken in this ambition: two new bridges over “Kohagesundet” and “Boksundet” (narrows) are ready and connect the scenic trails Allböleleden and Kohageleden to a completely new trail.
Located in the unique Eriksberg Nature Reserve, the bridges offer visitors a great opportunity to explore the area’s dramatic coastal landscape and rich wildlife. The new connections make it easier than ever to walk in this part of Blekinge, which borders the well-known Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve.
The two bridges have been inspected and completed. From now on, the bridges will be kept open ready to offer hiking experiences in the Blekinge archipelago. The last part of the hiking trail and the trail on the island Dragsö are not fully completed yet, some signage are still missing. A work that will be carried out during the first months of 2025. With understanding of this, however, it is quite possible to use the trails.
A 100-metre-long, technically advanced suspension bridge has been built over “Boksundet”, and a wooden footbridge about 185 metres long has been built over “Kohagesundet”, which connects “Kohagen” with “Dragsö”.
Bridges and the hiking trail will be formally inaugurated this spring during a public ceremony. The date for this event will be communicated in early 2025.
Blekinge Arkipelag, as the overall and unifying party over the biosphere reserve, has initiated and driven the project forward with the support of various actors such as “Sparbanken in Karlshamn” for example.

The two newly renovated gun emplacements, which are adjacent to the Allböle trail, are good places to stay for those who want to extend their stay in nature.
